Spring has sprung!

Last month, love was in the air, this month, it's Spring!

It is also the start of kitten season and one of our busiest times of year when we take in many stray and abandoned pregnant cats.  Did you know that one un-neutered female cat can in 5 years be responsible for up to 20,000 descendants?  Sadly, there aren't enough homes to go around :(  Please be a responsible owner and have your cats neutered.  We can help towards the cost and in some cases, pay in full.  For details, please see our 'Neutering' page.

At the end of March, we will have kittens available for viewing (though they won't be old enough to go to their new homes) so if you are thinking of adopting a kitten or 2, please call our 'Adoption' line (see 'Contact Us') after the 29th of March.

Please spare a thought for our lovely adult cats who need homes too; some of whom have been in branch for several months and are desperate for a family to live with and to be part of a household again.  Kittens are indeed adorable but they too will one day be adults!

Love and purrs.

How you Can Help

2010 looks set to be even busier on the cat front so if you can help in any way either by donating goods for us to sell, making a donation, becoming a member/buying a membership as a gift for someone, attending one of our events, adopting a cat or volunteering either on a one-off basis for one of our upcoming events or on a more permanent basis either doing vet runs for us, fostering or fundraising  then please do get in touch; we'd love to hear from you!

We rely entirely on public support and charitable donations to enable us to help the cats predominantly in the DY1-DY13 areas and we just couldn't do it without you.  So, on behalf of the cats, thank you! xx

The Branch

Welcome to the on-line home of Stourbridge and District Cats Protection. We are a local branch of Cats Protection, the UK's oldest and largest Feline Welfare Charity.

Cats Protection's vision is to ensure that every Cat is given the chance of a life where it will be treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

Cats Protection has simple and clear objectives to help cats:

  • Homing - finding good homes for cats in need
  • Neutering - by supporting and encouraging the neutering of cats
  • Information - by improving people’s understanding of cats and their care

The Stourbridge and District Branch covers Postcodes DY1 to DY13 and is run entirely by a group of dedicated volunteers. If you're not sure if we cover your area, please click here to be taken to the Royal Mail's postcode finder. If you live outside our area, please click here for details of other local branches.

On this site you'll find more information about us, the work we do, the cats we're currently looking after or looking for homes for, and how you can help us.

Thank you :)
